And the boldest colour was black,
I heard a country calling…
“I want my people back!”
I dreamed I saw a rainbow,
With many shades of green,
I dreamed of miles of open plain,
Where mallee scrub had been.
I dreamed I saw a rainbow,
With colours of furry grey,
And I dreamed of the birds and animals
That are gone forever today.
I dreamed I saw a rainbow,
Earth colours of brown and red,
I dreamed of open wastelands…
Denuded, eroded and dead!
I dreamed I saw a rainbow,
The boldest colour was black,
And I heard a country calling…
